17-year-old charged with 14 terror offences

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with 14 terrorism offences after an 18-month police investigation.

The teenager, from south-west London, was charged with 12 counts of possessing a document containing information of a kind likely to be of use to a person preparing or committing an act of terrorism.

He was also charged with one count of indirect encouragement to the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism and one count of disseminating a terrorist publication, and one count of disseminating a terrorist publication.

The teen was also charged with two counts of making an indecent photograph of a child.

He was charged at a south London police station on Wednesday after having initially been arrested on 19 June 2019.

He has been released on bail with conditions and will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 27 March.
