Man arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences will be held for a week while police search a property, Scotland Yard says.

A 21-year-old man arrested by counter-terror police is will be kept in custody while officers search a property.

The man, who has not been named, was arrested at an address in east London Saturday, December 28 suspected of the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism.

Officers have been carrying out a search of the property as part of the investigation by the Met Police's Counter Terrorism Command and the man will remain in custody until January 4.
