Answer: When dogs bark, as when babies cry, they do it mainly from their diaphragm pushing air up out through their throat without any stress of the vocal chord muscles. In actor training they taught us that actors can person every night because they are trained to speak from the diaphragm in order to remove the stress on their vocal chords.
