Jeremy Corbyn is the leader of the Labour Party and MP for Islington North.
Born on 26th May 1949, Mr Corbyn became an MP in 1983 and spent 23 years on the backbenches for Labour, regularly rebelling against the party. But when the party was looking for a new leader, he got on to the ballot paper and won a landslide victory in the Labour leadership election. That popularity among members has not been matched by his MPs, but he beat a leadership challenge in 2016 from Owen Smith. Mr Corbyn is married to Laura Álvarez, his third wife. He has three sons and a cat called 'El Gato'. Full name: Jeremy Bernard Corbyn Job: Leader of the Labour Party Salary: £125,000 Height: 5'7" Twitter: @jeremycorbyn
