TV presenter Vine saw singer and Neighbours star Donovan on Oxford Street while on his bike on Tuesday evening.

Vine and Donovan, who was also cycling, exchanged greetings before moving off as the light changed.

Vine saw a sightseeing bus coming up the road behind Donovan and called out to let him know.

But even though Donovan moved to the side of the road next to the pavement, the bus veered very close to him.

Vine caught up with Donovan and said: ""That was a close one. He nearly hit you. Terrible driving."

But Donovan seemed less fazed, replying: "That was a close one."

Vine posted the footage to social media with the caption: "I just saw a bus nearly take out Jason Donovan."

People responding to the clip were divided, with some blaming the bus driver and some taking aim at Vine - while others simply enjoyed the interaction between the two celebrities.

One said: "This happened to me years ago, close pass bus driver nearly hit me, adrenaline and rage meant I was able to overtake the bus and get on at the next stop and ‘express my disappointment’ at his poor driving."

But a second person told Vine: "Rather than proceed you have a chat, which delays him making progress.

"Watch that back, I see a cyclist distracted by another wearing a long camera on his head, they decide to chat among the 20 ton moving buses. One distract the other slowing him down then bus nearly hits him."

A third said: "Best thing about this was Donovan’s reaction. "No ‘NO! NO!’ drama, no overly edited film, no reacting as if the apocalypse is nigh. A shrug of the shoulders and not really giving a toss."

And, referencing Donovan's musical theatre career, one person joked: "How long before someone blames him for not wearing his hi vis amazing technicolour dreamcoat."

Donovan lives in Notting Hill with his wife and three children.

As well as his broadcasting career, Vine has become well known for his social media videos recording his interactions as a cyclist with drivers, many of which divide opinion.
