Sir Keir Starmer is a British politician and barrister who has served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 2024 and as Leader of the Labour Party since 2020.
Sir Keir took over from Jeremy Corbyn as the Leader of the Opposition after their disappointing defeat in the 2019 General Election.
Previously, he worked as a defence lawyer specialising in human rights issues, before becoming the Director of Public Prosecutions and Head of the Crown Prosecution Service for five years.
He arrived in parliament in 2015 and is the MP for Holborn and St Pancras.
