Sir Michael Fallon has told Iain Dale it’s “disappointing” that US security services leaked information relating to the Manchester terror attack.

The defence secretary joined the LBC presenter after it emerged several key details about the investigation into the bombing were leaked to the news media by US officials.

Home Secretary Amber Rudd already condemned the disclosures, warning they had risked damaging the “operational integrity” of investigations.

Sir Michael criticised the leaks also, telling LBC it was “disappointing”.

He said “This is a very fast moving investigation involving our security services, tracking down as rapidly as possible who the accomplices to this terrorist were.

“To do this you need to focus on getting to this network, if it is a larger network, that’s not helped by a premature release of details.”

Iain asked if that was a polite way of saying he was “bloody furious”… Watch Sir Michael’s response above.
