Former FBI Assistant Director Ron Hosko has offered one piece of advice to Donald Trump in a bid to steer him away from impeachment.

Mr Hosko joined Iain Dale as the US President continues to find himself in hot water.

In the latest scandal, reports claim Mr Trump asked former FBI director James Comey to drop an investigation into ex-national security adviser Michael Flynn and his ties to Moscow.

Only a few months into his presidency, a call for his impeachment has now been made from Democratic congressman Al Green.

Mr Trump claims "no politician in history" has been treated worse than he has.

So, what would be the one thing the Republican could do to save his presidency? Get off Twitter, according to Mr Hosko.

He told Iain: “I want him to succeed as President of the United States, but I desperately also want no more self-inflicted wounds.

“It seems as if the random tweets… they’re a constant source of controversy.”
