Maajid Nawaz has a clear message for Donald Trump following the US President's dig at the media.
During the US President’s first day in office he accused the media of manipulating reports to make his inauguration crowds look smaller.
On Maajid Nawaz's LBC show this afternoon the presenter delivered a message to the President following the dig made by Trump.
He said: “Shouldn’t this man, the 45th President of the United States of America just get on with the business of, you know, being President?
“Leading. It’s called being presidential. Instead then turns and says, at the CIA, when he’s there to commemorate war heroes in a special lecture, he decides to turn to the media, and he basically says they are among the most dishonest human beings on earth.
“I’m not so sure, Mr Trump, that the media are among the most dishonest human beings on earth. I’d suggest to you perhaps North Korea’s media would be the most dishonest.
“Perhaps Putin’s media could be the most dishonest. Russia Today, perhaps is the most dishonest, but the free media of the West, the free media that holds itself accountable.
“The same free media that exposed Guantanamo Bay, against its own country, I don’t think it’s accurate, nor fair.
“Nor when you talk about “making America great again” to disparage your own free media in this way, to say they are “the most dishonest human beings on Earth” while you stand in the CIA headquarters.”
