'Gina Miller Is A Hero, Not A Villain'

Shelagh Fogarty Dismayed

When a caller starts throwing barbs at Gina Miller, the woman behind the Brexit legal challenge, Shelagh Fogarty explains why, for her, Miller is a hero.

"What was the court case all about?" asked Peter when he called Shelagh. "That was just a waste of time and money."

"And who did the wasting?" asked Shelagh.

Peter struggled to remember Miller's name - even though he was pointing the finger of blame at her. "This Gina...whatever her name is...Miller."

Shelagh shot that one down swiftly, reminding Peter that Miller "stumped up her own cash".

He wasn't one for backing down though, telling the LBC presenter that the government "had to reply to her stupidity. She's wasted everyone's time and money."

So Shelagh told Peter why for her Miller was a hero and not a villain.

"The reality is [the government] wanted to doge parliament.

"They wanted parliament not to poke their noses in to the triggering of Article 50.

"It may well be process, but process matters. If process doesn't matter...just knock down parliament!

"For that reason, Gina Miller is a hero, not a villain."
